Vegna spár Veðurstofu Íslands um ofsaveður í nótt og fyrramálið (föstudaginn 14. febrúar nk.) og tilkynningu frá lögreglu, hefur Vestmannaeyjabær ákveðið að loka stofnunum bæjarins í fyrramálið og fram að hádegi. Ekkert skólahald verður í Grunnskóla Vestmannaeyja allan morgundaginn. Leikskólinn Kirkjugerði, leikskólinn Sóli, fimm ára deildin Víkin og íþróttahúsið, þ.m.t. sundlaugin, opna kl. 12 á morgun. Sama á við um aðrar stofnanir bæjarins. Ekki verður boðið upp á hádegismat í leikskólum á morgun.
Lágmarksstarfsemi verður á Hraunbúðum og sambýlinu.
Fólk er beðið um að halda sig heima yfir versta veðurofsann, gæta öryggis og fylgjast vel með tilkynningum yfirvalda í fjölmiðlum.

Due to the expected storm tonight and tomorrow morning (Fridagy 14 Febrúar 2020) the Vestmannaeyjabær has decided to close all the municipalities institutions until noon tomorrow. The elementary school (GRV) will be closed all Friday. The Kirkjugerði Kindergarden, Soli Kindergaredn, Vikin and the sports hall, incl. he swimming pool, will open at 12 o‘clock. The same applies to other institutions of the municipality. Lunch for the kids in the two kindergardens will not be served tomorrow.
Only minimum operation will apply to Hraunbúðir and Sambýlið nursing homes.
People are asked to stay at home tomorrow morning, during the storm, respect all safety measures and follow further announcements from repective authorities (https://en.vedur.is).
